St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Come one and all.

A reminder: Mick McCormick would like any interested pipesters to take part in the St. Patrick’s Day parade next month. This is an opportunity to generate positive PR and remind folks that pipe smokers walk among us.

Please see Mike with any questions at this meeting.

Meerscham Pipe Get Together

Photos from last Saturday’s meerscham get together at Micah’s

We had an impromptu seminar on re-waxing last weekend. Thanks to Micah for hosting the event.

Five of us gathered to practice this necessary step to maintaining and coloring your meerschaums.

In light of that. let’s plan to bring our meerschaums to the November meeting. The cooler weather will be perfect for enjoying them.

Visit to Peterson Pipes of Dublin

Hi Guys,

I’ll be in Dublin on Sunday Nov. 5th, and I plan to visit Peterson. Let me know if anybody wants me to pick up anything for them. Between the time difference and communication logistics, the requests would need to be kept fairly simple.

Upcoming Events

Upcoming Events

June:

There will be a tasting of a Blue Boar recreation. This version features two cube-cut burleys and perique for a smooth, slightly sweet, and slow-burning smoke.

July:

The July meeting will feature our first annual club barbecue and a one-time change of venue to the Skyline Tavern (skytav.com) which features a nice covered area and grill.

The tavern is limiting total attendance to nineteen (19) people and we will be doing sign ups on a first-come basis. Please see Alex at the monthly meetings through June.

The club will be providing hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and potato salads. Any additional meats or sides are welcome. I’m planning on some brats or chicken kebabs for myself.

To defray costs we are asking a $5 contribution from attendees.

October:

Slow-smoke contest. We will provide the corncobs and tobacco (TBD) for this event. Prizes will be awarded. More details to come.
